This topside cut of British beef is commonly used for braising and roasting. A staple of the Great British Sunday roast, we love serving roast beef with potatoes, greens and plenty of rich gravy.
All of our best graded roasting topside British beef is delivered weekly. We only take the prime cuts from the very best quality beef so you can guarantee consistently high quality in every order.
Cooking Tips
To roast a topside beef joint, bring it to room temperature, season it with salt and pepper, and any preferred herbs or spices. Preheat the oven to 220°C and use a roasting pan. Cook to an internal temperature of 55-60°C for rare, 60-65°C for medium-rare, or 70-75°C for well done. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature. Rest the meat for at least 10-15 minutes before carving against the grain. This will help the juices redistribute, making it more tender. Rub with oil or butter to add flavor and slice it against the grain.

The food was nice. We did panic about it arriving in time though for an Easter Sunday lunch with family. Delivery was supposed to be on the Friday and we waited in all day. It arrived on the Saturday instead. It was still chilled but it was close.

I have been ordering a variety of ready meals over the last couple of weeks all very well packaged and delivered by friendly drivers. On the whole I have enjoyed most of the meals especially the cottage pie and the spaghetti bolognese very tasty but I have to say I found the meatballs and faggots a little bit bland , I think they could have done with a little more seasoning but that is only my personal opinion . The portion sizes are very good and I like the choices that are available.
Had a mixture of products. Fresh meat, homemade pies, coleslaw, apple pie. All was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. So far everything I have eaten from the order is delicious. I have frozen a few things and all has defrosted really well. Delivery was very quick and i got mine free. Great value for money and I will order again.

Eric Lyon’s food is delicious.This time I ordered mince pies and festive pie and it looked and tasted very special and indulgent.I’ve eaten pies, lasagnes, curry’s, bacon, and sweet pies from here in the past and have enjoyed all the meals. The beef pie topped with a dumpling crust was always my fave and the veggie lasagnes and lamb curry’s.Sorry I didn’t take photos it all got eaten so quick at my Xmas party!

This is a butcher with a difference! Conveniently located on Knowle High Street with plenty of nearby parking. As you enter, grab a wicker shopping basket. You're going to need it! Super cuts of fresh meat, kebabs, etc. Move over to the left, and you have Eric Lyons pies. Once tasted, there's no going back. Rammed full of delicious meat, choices such as chicken, steak, and ale. Then, they have a hot counter, so grab your snack here. Over to the fridges there are cheeses, puddings, fresh pocketed foods to eat or home freeze. In the middle are all the sauces, bread, veg, and other fresh meats. As you can tell, it's a bit of a one stop high quality shop! Staff are helpful and friendly so you really have a decent shopping experience. We gave family in Scotland who get it delivered there, they love it so much!

Pasties were absolutely packed with tasty and well seasoned mince beef and veg. Fabulous pastry, perfect. Quick update, ate the lamb and mint family pie yesterday,packed with tender pieces of lamb, crust was luscious.

Bought a fish and chip supper from the local chip shop when my wife and myself visited Knowle, which included a Eric Lyons steak and kidney pie. When we returned home I ordered some of these pies to be delivered.The order came a couple of days later, and I was impressed at the care and packaging that they came with.Even the ice block that was inserted in the substantial packaging was still partially frozen. WELL DONE
We had our pie and skittles night last Saturday and 36 of us enjoy a selection of all your pies. Absolutely delicious, all plates came back empty. Excellent family butcher, mixing old fashioned, high standards of customer service with the option of modern cuts, styles and products. We started to visit there store about twelve months ago when looking for quality and provenance for the meat we bought, and now won’t go anywhere else. Had a hog roast supplied and served by staff at Eric Lyon’s, food was amazing and service was first class. They delivered all the equipment the day before and setup, arrived on time the next day with the hog, set it going. Came back and finished it off and served for 2 hours to my guests. Cleared all away, everything. Can’t recommend them enough, would definitely use them again

We began our online delivery service to help serve our community in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. It proved vital to help many residents get through some tough months and is a service we are very happy to continue improving. We currently have 2 separate delivery services for Local and National.

We’ve always had certain things we like done a certain way. And most of these have to do with making fresh food from the finest ingredients. Like our flour. We get it straight from the mill for our pies and pastries. And our meats, freshly supplied by reputable farmers with a keen sense of quality. Even our seasonal fruit and veg comes straight from local farms, and then goes right into our customers’ baskets and ready meals.
